Application of Dolycon CT100 Series Inverter in CNC engraving machine
At present, the engraving machine has gradually become an essential professional tool for various industries.
With the development and application of CNC numerical control technology bounded with high-performance variable frequency controller and servo drive equipment, CNC engraving machine has increasingly become the mainstream configuration of the current engraving industry.
 
Most of the main drive systems of CNC engraving machine use inorganic variable speed. The inorganic transmission system mainly has two kinds: frequency conversion spindle system and servo spindle system. Because of the high performance of the inverter, the frequency converter is very popular on the machine tool. The spindle system is an important component of the CNC engraving machine, and its performance has a crucial influence on the performance of the CNC engraving machine. As the heart of the spindle system, the inverter is an indispensable key component.
 
System Performance Requirements for Frequency Converters
1.Wide speed range, running speed is generally 0~24000r/min.
2.Small speed fluctuations in the full speed range.
3.Low torque at low speed ensures low speed cutting.
4.The time for acceleration and deceleration is as short as possible.
 
System Requirements for Frequency Converters
1.The control mode is V/F control to meet the wide range of speed control, good weak magnetic property, good drive stability and control requirement.
2.Terminal controls start and stop, to realize remote start/stop and forward/reverse switch.
3.Analog set operating frequency, 0 ~ 10VDC voltage output acceptable.
4.The speed range is 0~24000r/min, and the inverter's running frequency is 0~400Hz (secondary high-speed motor);
5.Acceleration and deceleration time is short, generally 3~5s, because the running speed is relatively high, so the inverter with braking unit is needed.
6.The fault output signal is required to ensure timely protection of the system when the spindle fails, a fault reset signal is required to ensure that the fault can be remotely reset and restarted.
 
Solution:
Terminal controls start and stop of the inverter, DI1/DI2 command to realize the start, stop and switch of the spindle motor forwardly and reversely. Considering that an emergency system failure may require quick braking to avoid mechanical damage, an emergency stop function is implemented for the terminals via DI3.The fault signal of the inverter is output through the programmable relay terminal. When the inverter is faulty, the system receives the fault signal to avoid mechanical damage caused by malfunction. After the fault is cleared, the fault lock can be released through the reset terminal.
The system speed control mode is the digital-to-analog conversion of the numerical control system. The inverter receives the 0~10V voltage signal given by the numerical control system as the frequency signal, and automatically adjusts the engraving speed.
For CNC engraving machine needs quick start/stop which produces large energy feedback, so braking resistor is needed.
